The Financial Crime Forum is delighted that Michael D Loewen has agreed to appear at The Financial Crime Forum Online on 21 March, 2023
The Financial Crime Forum - Upskilling the Risk and Compliance Function is aimed at those considering, or having just started, a career in junior financial crime risk and compliance staff, to provide understanding of the industry and its challenges. But the Forum is not a junior level event: it deals with advanced topics that juniors would rarely get a glimpse of.
Michael has a diverse educational background, including Business Administration, Chemistry (Organic and Pharmaceutical), Psychology, and Sociology. He has also audited Chemical Engineering, Pathology and Veterinary Medicine all of which provide a unique insight into the understanding of the different ways people operate and think.
Welcoming Michael to the Financial Crime Speakers' Roster, Nigel Morris-Cotterill, a pioneer in Financial Crime Risk and Compliance strategies and Chairman of The Financial Crime Forum said "Michael is unusual: he has a breadth of knowledge and experience that gives him a perspective that few can match. In this Forum, he will introduce those new to the industry to Open Source Intelligence, often known as OSINT and he will demonstrate how apparently random data can often be linked to give a picture of the target. It's an essential skill because while there are many computer programs that generate exception reports, that where the work starts as humans need to decide whether there is actually a cause for suspicion. "

This event is intended for those at the beginning of their career and costs only GBP10.
