Jersey's financial regulator warns about a "scam entity."
A website using the URLs protradingview.com and protradingview.org is the subject of a warning by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
The Commission warns against dealings via the website which "falsely purports" (that means tells lies) that it is authorised by the Commission to conduct financial services business in Jersey. The Commission "confirms the following:
- The scam entity has never been registered, nor applied for registration, under the FS(J)L or Supervisory Bodies Law. Therefore, any financial service business or Schedule 2 business carried on by the scam entity, is in breach of Article 7 of the FS(J)L and Article 10 of the Supervisory Bodies Law.
The Commission says that it has documentary evidence that "the scam entity" and the website "display warning signs of being set up for fraudulent purposes." This form of conduct is a clear example of Trade Based Financial Crime.
The Commission asks anyone who has had dealings with "the scam entity" to contact the Commission's enforcement team by email at enforcement@jerseyfsc.org.
It has also issued a reminder that all regulated businesses are listed here: www.jerseyfsc.org/industry/regulated-entities/
